Calling all little kiddos! Please read the ad below and summit your pictures to the email listed. Please direct all questions to nicole@nicoleaitkenphotography.com . The shoot will be held on March 10, 2012 at a location in the Simi Valley area. A total of 8 kiddos will be selected! Family's selected will will receive 5 high resolution digital files from the shoot, plus one 5x7 and two 4x6 portraits.

props with him which is always so much fun. He was such
a little snoozer with the occasional hick-ups.  I love, love,
love, newborns, they are my favorite subjects!

January 2012 MCP Project 12

I will be given a theme for each monthly photo I enter in to the MCP Project 12. This months theme is resolution. I am not one for resolutions, although I have many goals for myself this year. I have been taking numerous photos of the kiddos and family on my iPhone or my point and shoot camera. I have not been taking the time to capture my kids just as they are in this last year. I simply got lazy with it! So for the "Resolution" theme I would say to take the work factor away from my DLSR and capture my own loves more. This is a picture of my daughter on 1/19/2012 giving her daily love to her chicken Easter. I used MCP LR preset Girl Next Door.

3/52 Everyday Tools

For the third week (3/52) of 2012 the idea is "White Space (Negative Space)." Alternate theme is "Everyday Tools." I went with everyday tools. We go through our days grabbing for a plate, fork, and knife out of repetition, without often looking at them as tools.

Paint the Moon- Let's do 52

Ok, I am also going to take on a 52 week photo project as well. This one I started a week late so it will be 51 for me. I missed the first week, was a bit busy around here. This one is with Paint the Moon click on the link to check it out. The theme for week 2 was responsibility or open, I went with open. Jakob lost his tooth yesterday and he now has an open hole in his mouth. I love him so!

Florabella Collection Project 24 1-Morning

So I have decided to take on a Creative Photography Challenge this year with Florabella Collection. 
There are no rules and it runs every other week. Sounds easy, right? I am hoping to stick with it. I know that 365 challenges don't work for my busy schedule so I am hoping this one does.

The first theme of the challenge was "Morning". For me that was a challenge, as everyone take pictures of their tea or coffee I wanted something different. So while I was laying in bed thinking about this up jumps Shadow onto my bed as he does every morning. So I went to bed with camera on nightstand to capture my daily greeting the following morning. He has done this every morning and is so patient for me to get up, if he want me up he will just stare and stare. Most of the time he comes in for cuddles, with the kids getting bigger and wanting less morning cuddles I am fine with that.
